The casting for the 25th Anniversary concert at the O2 in October, has been announced. And the role for Javert is to be played by American Norm Lewis. It seems to me such a shame as Philip is singing better than ever, and it would have been nice to see Philip play the role at least one more time. I'm sorry Norm but no-one can touch Philip's take on this role, and his presence at the concert will be sorely missed.

I'll second that - Philip is singing better than ever - he was amazing at Night Of 1000 Voices - and for him not to be at 25th Anniversary concert is a great shame. Totally agree that no-one can touch Philip's take on the role of Javert! Had he been going I would have found the money for a ticket but at the price they are I doubt I will make it to the O2 - can't manage the "nosebleed" seats that are affordable - even for Les Mis!!
ReplyDeleteJulie adds another comment on Les Mis concert!!!
ReplyDeleteActually could not have afforded the nosebleed section as the seats there were £100 I have just found out - want to know where the £50 seat are and I think the £30 seats must be on a barge in the middle of the Thames watching a screen!
I have watched the 25th Anniversary in dvd and I don't like it. My favorite is the 10th Anniversary obviously with Philip Quast. Norm Lewis has a good voice but never will be Quast and Philip is for excellence our inspector Javert, I love the passion that Philip put in the character.
