In a snippet from Mark Shenton's blog in 'The Stage', Philip Quast is now based in Australia. Good news for all his Aussie fans, not so good for the rest of us :( But my best wishes and good luck to all his adventures back in Oz.

A wonderful piece of news released on the 'Philip Quast Guide' is that Philip is to star as Sir Humphrey Appleby in the Australian premiere of 'Yes, Prime Minister'. This is to start in January 2012. More details will be forthcoming on the official website as they become available.

The two female leads in 'Mary Poppins' - Verity Hunt-Ballard and Marina Prior are 'taking a break' from their roles as Mary Poppins and Winifred Banks respectively. The roles are now to be played by Scarlett Strallen and Pippa Grandison.

I'd like to take the opportunity to wish both actresses well in their roles.

It has been reported by aussietheatre.com that Mary Poppins is due to appear in Brisbane in January 2012. This will follow on from the Sydney production, and is thought that the main cast will transfer to the venue.

Last night was opening night for the Australian cast of 'Mary Poppins' at the Capitol theatre in Sydney. According to the 'Philip Quast Guide', it was also the 300th performance overall. A marvellous achievement in itself. Well done to all.

I've been having a quick tour of the internet.Got a little bit of wait before I decide what I want for tea. And I came up with this - a snippet of info from a review. Mary Poppins - Sydney 2011

It seems as though 'Mary Poppins' will start earlier in Sydney next year than I thought. The show will be doing previews from Tuesday 19th April 2011. Tickets are now available at Ticketmaster Australia. Opening night is still the 6th of May. This does not give the cast, including Philip, much of a break as this will mean there is only two weeks between finishing in Melbourne and previews starting in Sydney!!! This is assuming that they actually are getting a break, as some rehearsal time must be slated for during this period.

Ticketek final release of MP tickets

Ticketek are now preselling Mary Poppins tickets for performances till the end of the run in Melbourne (1st April 2011). They go on general release to the public on Thursday 9th December.
